Coming soon ...

The Prayer Day

We are asking you to pray for our church on Thursday October 12th.

We will give more details nearer the time, but I would like you to note the date now. Our church building will be open for you to come and pray quietly, and we’d like you to take part.

If you are not used to this, don’t worry. The worship area will be prepared to give you plenty of suggestions, and you come for as much time, or as little, as you wish. You may pray at home, but I would encourage you to come to the church building to get the best experience.

We are looking for a sense of direction which we can all share. We all have our own interests and passions, but this is a day when we ask our Father to speak to us as a church.

We will be praying about five specific topics:

1. Effectiveness in our Mission – that we will know how to bring good news to the community around us. How is God leading us?

2. People who were once part of our church and are no longer part of any church. You may or may not know some of these by name, but you can pray.

3. The hurts we are carrying, that God will bring healing, especially hurts we have experienced in church.

4. Prayer that we will be a compassionate church, where everyone gives and receives care from each other.

5. Prayer that we will be a church where we all feel OK to be the people that we are, and where we are all open to God’s grace.

You may want to fast for all or part of the day. If you do, please check out how to do this safely, especially if you have medical conditions.

Hoping to see you in October!
